ST-FÉLICIEN CEGEP VICTIM OF A CYBER ATTACK
20 SEPTEMBRE 2020
September 20, 2020 - Cégep de St-Félicien was the victim of a cyberattack on September 17 in the evening. The situation is now taken care of and an investigation is underway to establish the history of the facts and determine the affected data. Necessary security measures are taken. In this context, the College has taken the decision to suspend classes and all of its activities until Friday, September 25 inclusive.
The modalities for resuming classes suspended this week will be communicated to students over the next few days. The Cégep will take steps to ensure that students are not penalized by this incident. Students and staff are encouraged to follow developments on the College's website at www.cegepstfe.ca as well as on its Facebook page.
The administrative staff are called to arrive on the scene this Monday, September 21 according to the usual schedule while respecting the health directives.
The blackout affected all of the College's sites, namely the Cégep de St-Félicien, the Collegiate Studies Center in Chibougamau, the Business and Community Service as well as the Écofaune boréale collegial technology transfer center.
The Cégep de St-Félicien wishes to acknowledge the exceptional collaboration of the Ministry of Higher Education, the Fédération des cégeps and other partners of the college network.
The management of the College will not comment further so as not to obstruct the investigation.
