NETIQUETTE FOR ONLINE CLASSES

BEFORE CLASS

  • I prepare for class.
  • I wear appropriate clothing.
  • I set up in a quiet workspace.
  • I gather the documents and materials I need for my class.
  • I download the required documents.
  • I set up and test the Internet connection before the videoconference begins.
  • I make sure to log in a few minutes before the class starts.
  • I log into my college accounts (Microsoft 365, Moodle, Col.NET).

DURING CLASS

  • I avoid distractions by turning off my other devices, software or platforms that are not being used in my class.
  • I turn on my webcam and microphone at the teacher’s request.
  • I actively participate in the activities that are offered and stay until class is over.
  • I do not record or take screen shots unless authorized to do so.

AFTER CLASS

  • I do not use the material seen during the online class sessions for anything other than my studies.
  • I do not post anything on social media related to the online class sessions.
  • I complete the assignments as requested to be ready for my next class.

Camera usage during synchronous online classes

Webcams must be turned on during synchronous online assessments (exams, assignments, oral presentations, etc.).

Recording of class sessions

Teachers must notify students that they will be recording a class session before the class begins. Students who keep their camera and microphone turned on thereby consent to the video recording. Students may withdraw their consent at any time by turning off their camera or microphone. In such a case, the chat tool can be used to communicate throughout the session.

COVID-19: MANDATORY SELF-DECLARATION

Let us remind you of the importance of completing the self-declaration form when visiting the various CEGEP sites. This self-declaration can be completed on site (paper form) or online at www.cegepstfe.ca. Click on the large blue banner displayed on the computers available at the entrances to the CEGEP or use your smartphone.

You must complete it every time you visit. The self-declaration form cannot be completed all at once for the week. Your cooperation is essential to help the CEGEP and public health authorities monitor cases of COVID-19.

PUBLIC HEALTH MEASURES

Until further notice, procedural masks must be worn by students and staff members attending the CEGEP whenever they are moving about within the facilities. Masks will be given out free of charge at the entrances to the CEGEP.

In an effort to protect the environment, procedural masks will be recovered and recycled. We ask that you dispose of them in the bins provided for that purpose.
