At the Annual General Meeting in January 2025, the Regroupement des étudiantes et étudiants du Centre collégial à Chibougamau (REECCC) (the student association) was tasked with setting up two new insurance plans:

  • Group insurance plan – all students at the Centre d’études collégiales à Chibougamau are automatically enrolled in this plan at a cost of $98* per year. The plan includes the following coverages: dental care, complementary health care, travel insurance, accident insurance and telemedicine services. Students may opt out of this group insurance plan every year, free of charge, on the dedicated web portal. The administrator of the insurance plan, known as Major Plan, will issue the refund.
  • Student assistance program (including psychological support services) – all students at the Centre d’études collégiales à Chibougamau are automatically enrolled in this program at a cost of $12* per year. Students cannot opt out of the program or receive a refund.

*The cost is reduced by 50% for students who start their courses in the Winter session.

Effective date of coverage

Coverage for these services will begin in the Fall session, more specifically on September 1, 2025. The insurance premiums will be automatically added to your student invoice for the Fall 2025 session. The two premiums are designed to provide adequate coverage for all REECCC members.
